Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) sector and the Airborne Multifunction Sensors Division is looking for a Senior Programs Director to lead the Restricted Operating Unit within the Advanced Mission Capabilities Business Unit. The Restricted Operating Unit spans all phases of programs, early development through sustainment with exciting opportunities to work in a fast-paced environment to bring needed capability to the war fighter.

The Operating Unit Director has P&L responsibilities for the management, strategy and execution of the Restricted OU. This position reports to the VP, Advanced Mission Capabilities BU and will be located full-time onsite in Baltimore, MD.

Responsibilities include:

Builds and leverages a strong partnership with cross-functional teams to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives in a matrix organizational environmentEstablishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, risk/opportunity management, identifies and resolves complex program problemsIdentifying, allocating and managing program resources, including workforce planningCultivates a positive employee experience in a high-pressure environment by focusing on engagement, recognition, retention initiatives and professional developmentDemonstrates strong communication skills to deliver executive briefings internally and externally to customers, leaders and other program stakeholdersCultivates customer relationships and intimacy to develop further opportunities within the customer communityDevelops business area strategies and new business opportunities that are consistent with Division/ Sector priorities to drive consistent growth for the operating areaParticipates in the negotiation of contracts, contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, schedule milestones, and key terms and conditionsDriving predictable program performance, including regular measurement and management of key performance metrics

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree 12 or more years of program management or related experience; OR Master's degree with 10 or more years of program management or related experienceProfit & Loss experience with an integrated program teamProposal leadership experienceDemonstrated success leading teams and/or organizations to achieve a common goal, exceptional collaboration skills in a matrix environmentExperience leading and executing in demanding high visibility roles with evidence of being able to create an inclusive work environment that attracts retains and inspires diverse engaged teamsDemonstrated ability to foster existing customer relationships and develop new customer relationshipsExperience leading DoW programsDemonstrated ability to develop and drive strategy, and critical thinking to resolve complex problemsExperience generating and briefing senior level (i.e. executives) internal and external stakeholdersAbility to travel up to 25%Must be a US citizen with an Active DoW Secret Clearance and ability to obtain special access clearances; Or DoE equivalent and ability to obtain special access clearances

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in engineering and/or business administrationExpertise in Full Life Cycle (early S&T, EMD, Production & Sustainment) of program execution to lead the performance of tasks on schedule and at costCompetitive capture experienceUnderstanding of manufacturing and processKnowledge of radar systemsExperience leading classified programs

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
