FlexStaff is seeking a Senior Program Manager for our client, a manufacturer of products for the aerospace and defense industry. This role is located 100% onsite in Melville, NY. The ideal candidate will have prior experience leading technical programs with expertise in high‑reliability hardware requirements and RF component design, production, and testing.
Responsibilities
+ Oversees, directs, and coordinates all activities necessary to successfully execute all approved, assigned programs.
+ Ensures all programs are executed within the committed timeframe and in line with contractual requirements.
+ Responsible for program management processes.
+ Coordination of multiple complex programs.
+ Critical assessment of process and policy improvements
+ Conducts Program/Financial reviews. Monitors and controls activities/costs on major programs.
+ Conducts program status reviews for upper management. Reports both contractual status (technical, schedule, etc.) and financial status.
+ Manage programs through all phases, from proposal preparation and submission, contract negotiation, baseline, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, qualification, validation, production, and delivery
+ Coordinate with business management and functional management to ensure that workload, staffing plans, work processes, and procedures are aligned
+ Plans and determines the most efficient method of achieving program objectives within the framework of technical capabilities, Company procedures and contractual requirements.
+ Establishes and maintains adequate controls to assure continuous analysis and measurement of performance against requirements and initiates corrective action as required.
+ This is a hands-on position. You will direct and work together with the IPT to achieve both program and enterprise cost and schedule goals.
+ Single Point of Contact for all programmatic internal and customer communications
+ Participate in new business proposals, project projections, and analysis of requirements
+ Assume responsibility for program profit, schedule, and technical performance
+ Prepare and present detailed program review packages to senior management and customers
+ Lead risk and opportunity management for assigned programs
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree AND a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience OR Graduate degree AND a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience required
+ Previous technical program management experience or demonstrated knowledge of high-reliability hardware requirements and RF component design, production and test is preferred
+ Experience with earned value, cost, and schedule management is necessary
+ Strong leadership skills with the ability to successfully direct, motivate, and influence a team using a combination of technical knowledge, teamwork, and people management skills
+ Ability to successfully manage a wide range and high volume of activity
+ Exceptional communication skills with the ability to succinctly address complex issues and action plans with program team, peers, senior management, and customers
+ Program management certification or equivalent preferred
+ Current security clearance is highly preferred
+ Costpoint, ERP systems, Microsoft Office proficiency

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
The salary range for this position is $150000-$170000/year
