Amazon operates a world-class network of delivery stations across the globe. The Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Team is responsible for the acquisition, design, construction, and management of all facilities in the Amazon Delivery Station Network. We are looking for a Senior Program Manager, Design Engineering to join our North America AMZL Design Engineering Team who would support the launch and expansion of AMZL’s Delivery Station Network. This individual has experience in delivering results, ownership, and having the maturity to lead and influence teams.
This Program Manager for Design Engineering will have a talent and passion for program managing the delivery station design workstreams in North America. This role will work with other design program managers, design engineers, and CAD technicians towards structured, streamlined, and efficient program management of various design initiatives and design processes. The individual will support long term sustainable end-to-end program management processes incorporating project and imitative intake, scope requirements, timelines, resource management to meet business and customer demands. The internal customers and stakeholders will include Design Engineering, Process Engineering, Material Handling Engineering, Pre-Construction and its Architects, World Wide Building Design and its Architects. A strong planning and program management skillset, proficiency in project collaboration and program/ portfolio management tools, quantitative analysis, and the experience to organize and deliver new initiatives involving leadership across cross-functional groups. This position will support regular reporting and process improvements to support leadership reviews.
Key job responsibilities
Responsible for the end-to-end program management of initiatives driven by the various engineering and tech teams that require design engineering resources and support
Responsibilities include program intake, scope validation, technical details and specifications, timeline requirements, design resource requirements, and process to manage and track progress and deliverables
Programs include new delivery station launches and legacy delivery station network optimization and upgrades initiatives that require design engineering resources and support
Lead and manage process improvements and their communication within the design processes for the Design Engineering team
Collaborates with stakeholders including Pre-Construction, Construction, Startup Planning, Material Handling Equipment, Modules and Standards, Topology and Capacity Planning teams
Responsible for tracking and reporting daily, weekly, quarterly plan vs. performance actual of the Design milestones and resource utilizations for the Design Engineering team
Lead continuous process improvements to reduce and eliminate administrative burden for the Design Engineers
Tracks and enables the implementation of new Design standards within station designs in collaboration with World Wide Building Design, WHS, Process Engineering, Material Handling Equipment
Manages the Design quality control process that strives for accurate and zero-defect designs with high first pass yield
Program manages the new expansion, retrofit, process improvement initiatives and opportunities for the DE team at the program level to support associate and driver safety, quality, and productivity, and capacity increase for the network
Implements solutions to standardize the way of tracking and obtaining inputs and outputs for the Design Engineering processes, and hold partner teams accountable for the quality and timing of their inputs
Implement mechanisms to efficiently track the design revisions, architect inputs and deliverables with a goal of streamlining the duration of the overall design process
Contribute to network culture of standardization using best practice sharing with Worldwide counterparts, and incorporate into most up to date design process practices
Collaborates with partner teams on their inputs, feedback, and best practices
Facilitate cross-functional project specific reviews to implement design solutions and updates
Represents the Design Engineering team and provides the team’s outputs in cross-functional reviews including Topology, Capacity, Project Progress, Business and Budget approvals

The Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Team is responsible for the acquisition, design, construction, and management of all facilities in the Amazon Delivery Station Network.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
