We’re looking to bring on a Senior Product Owner that bridges deep Data Warehouse & Data Analysis experience as well as impeccable communication and business stakeholder management skills.
**Role description** as follows:
**Senior Product Owner – Data Warehouse**
**(Global Commercial & Business Banking)**
If you’re motivated by creating clarity from complexity and building products that make a tangible difference to how organizations make informed decision this role is for you. We’re looking for a **Senior Product Owner** to steward the evolution of a foundational **Data Warehouse** that underpins Global Commercial and Business Banking.
This isn’t a role for someone who wants to “manage tickets.” It’s for someone who wants to take responsibility for outcomes; someone who brings people together around a shared vision; someone who understands that great products emerge from alignment, curiosity, and intelligent trade-offs.
**What the Role Is Really About**
**1. Making Collaboration Effortless**
Great products come from teams that operate in harmony, not isolation.
You’ll be a key connector—working hand‑in‑hand with the Scrum Master, Delivery Lead, and Feature Lead to set the rhythm and direction of the team.
You’ll also be part of a horizontal product group spanning Client Data, Analytics, and CRM—an ecosystem where coordination and shared purpose matter just as much as the capabilities you ship.
**2. Taking Ownership of the Product’s Trajectory**
Ownership is not a job title; it’s a mindset.
You’ll be the central point of contact for business stakeholders and technology partners, ensuring everyone understands where the product is going and why.
**Your core responsibilities include:**
+ Articulating a compelling and coherent product vision.
+ Defining a strategy and roadmap that align long-term business needs with practical delivery realities.
+ Ensuring dependencies across teams and systems are understood, planned for, and managed.
+ Leading quarterly planning and maintaining a healthy backlog—so the team never has to wonder what comes next.
**3. Communicating Early, Often, and Without Ambiguity**
Communication doesn’t happen when you speak; it happens when you’re understood.
**You’ll:**
+ Overcommunicate upward so leaders always have a clear view of risks, issues, and emerging priorities.
+ Craft crisp executive release notes that explain not just what’s being delivered, but the business value behind it.
+ Maintain alignment across business and technology partners—reducing surprises and increasing shared understanding.
+ Keep upstream and downstream teams synchronized so the broader system remains stable and predictable.
**4. Thinking Critically About Data and Its Ecosystem**
Data products live at the intersection of technology, behavior, and decision-making.
Succeeding here means being intellectually curious about:
+ How large-scale data systems function
+ What makes pipelines resilient
+ How ETL and transformation logic shape downstream analytics
+ How data architecture impacts compliance, timeliness, and usability
You don’t need to be the one writing code, but you do need the analytical fluency to reason about complex systems and ask the kinds of questions that reveal what others might overlook.
**Qualifications & Experience**
Below are the capabilities that will set someone up for success. They’re not arbitrary requirements; they’re the ingredients of someone who can truly _own_ this product and elevate it.
**Professional Experience**
+ **7+ years of product management or product ownership experience** , ideally with data platforms, data warehouses, or analytics products.
+ **Experience working in complex, regulated environments** (financial services, banking, insurance, etc.), where data quality, lineage, and governance are non‑negotiable.
+ **Hands-on experience with Agile delivery** , including backlog creation, refinement, prioritization, and release planning.
+ **Proven ability to work across multiple teams** —upstream, downstream, and laterally—to manage dependencies and maintain a coherent delivery roadmap.
+ **Demonstrated success influencing without authority** , resolving ambiguity, and aligning diverse stakeholders around a common plan.
**Technical & Analytical Skills**
+ Strong understanding of **data warehousing concepts** , data modeling, metadata, and schema design.
+ Familiarity with **data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes** , and how data moves through an enterprise ecosystem.
+ Comfort working with **large datasets** and interpreting how architectural decisions affect usability, latency, and quality.
+ Ability to translate technical constraints into business terms—and business needs into actionable technical requirements.
**Communication & Leadership**
+ Exceptional clarity in verbal and written communication, especially when dealing with senior leaders.
+ Ability to craft succinct, executive-friendly narratives that explain impact, trade-offs, and value.
+ A natural inclination toward **transparency** , expectation-setting, and continuous alignment.
+ A collaborative working style that values shared understanding over territorial boundaries.
**Mindset & Approach**
+ A systems thinker who appreciates how small decisions ripple across the ecosystem.
+ A bias toward clarity, structure, and purposeful action.
+ Curiosity about how things work—and how they could work better.
+ Comfort owning decisions, outcomes, and consequences.
