Senior Product Manager - Programmable Communications & AI (17509)

Role Overview

 

The Senior Product Manager will lead the strategy, definition, and delivery of next-generation programmable communications solutions for a global telecom operator customer base. With a focus on leveraging AI-driven capabilities and 5G New Calling innovations, this role ensures the company remains at the forefront of communications software, enabling advanced real-time, contextual, and cross-channel experiences. The Senior Product Manager will serve as the key interface between customers, engineering, sales, and strategic partners—driving product vision from concept through adoption taking a Whole Product framework approach.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Product Strategy & Roadmap Define and communicate the long-term roadmap for AI-enhanced B2B and B2C digital communication services, integrating AI/ML, programmable communications and 5G New Calling advances. Align business vision to market opportunities, customer demand, and emerging telecom standards. Build the business case for new solutions, focusing on scalability, monetization, and operator-TCO. Customer and Market Engagement Engage with Tier-1/2 operator customers globally to evangelize the value and differentiation they can deliver with AI-enhanced communication services and develop an understanding of their platform needs, pain points, and localized / regionalized opportunities for differentiation. Monitor competitive landscape including CPaaS players, OTT platforms, and vendor ecosystems. Translate customer input and regulatory/standards evolution (3GPP, GSMA, IETF) into actionable product features. Product Development Leadership Drive new product introduction (NPI) initiatives from requirements to launch using Agile methodologies. Work closely with engineering teams to ensure requirements for AI integration (e.g., conversational AI agents, predictive orchestration, real-time analytics) are precise and feasible. Shape technical specifications for 5G New Calling (messaging, AR/VR interactions, in-call data exchange, RCS complement). Prioritize features using market impact, technical complexity, and revenue opportunity / Radisys ROI. Define and manage 18–24-month roadmap based on synthesis of end customer, market, channel, competitor and partner perspectives including full product lifecycle considerations. Cross-functional Collaboration Partner with solution architects, UX teams, and technical product owners to ensure customer-ready deliverables. Guide marketing teams with messaging and positioning that highlight AI-driven capabilities and “What’s in it for me” customer value (end user, operator, channel), and ability to tailor solutions to unique customer needs based on product capabilities and Radisys services and unique position in market. Enable global sales/pre-sales by working with product development and product marketing to deliver demos, collateral, and customer-facing roadmap presentations. Performance & Growth Management Define KPIs for product adoption, usage growth, and contribution to revenue. Track product performance in market, ensuring iterative enhancements and lifecycle planning. Identify opportunities for upselling, ecosystem partnerships, and AI-enabled services.

 

Required Skills & Experience

 

5+ years in public and private cloud related product management, with at least 2-3 years of extensive AI-related focus delivering projects/products that utilize advanced AI (either as the core solution or integrated in larger enterprise platforms). Deep understanding of for AI-centric offerings that utilize state-of-the-art LLMs, SLMs, RAG pipelines, memory modules, and agentic frameworks as well as speech and video processing. Partner / ecosystem relationship management particularly in the AI market, including experience with joint solution and roadmap planning and delivery, and exploiting go-to-market synergies to create new business opportunities. Proven ability to build business cases and drive products from concept to global deployment. Strong communication and presentation skills spanning technical and business domains from C-level to individual contributor stakeholders.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

Experience with IMS systems, SIP signaling, WebRTC, RCS, and programmable communications concepts, as well as familiarity with AI/ML applications in telecom (e.g., conversational interfaces, call intent detection, network optimization, customer analytics). Background in CPaaS/NaaS product strategy or integration of telecom APIs into enterprise applications. Exposure to 5G, network slicing, and edge computing as enablers AI-enhanced digital services. MBA or equivalent background in business strategy and go-to-market planning. Knowledge of compliance (privacy, security, responsible AI), global data regulations, or vertical AI applications (health, finance, etc.).

 

Success Metrics

 

Customer Adoption of new Radisys built services as well as customer adoption of APIs. Revenue growth from new Ai-enhanced digital services through operator customers. Ecosystem expansion with partners and developers building on the platform. Recognition as a market leader in AI-enhanced telecom communications solutions.
