Senior Product Manager of Retirement Distributions
**Our Financial Services Company is looking for a Senior Product Manager** **Role: Senior Product Manager of Retirement Distributions** **Location: REMOTE** **Duration: 15 months with the possibility of extension/conversion** **Rate: $85/hr on W2** **Position Overview** We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead our retirement distributions product portfolio, including systematic withdrawals, participant loans, and terminated employee processes. This role is central to our enterprise-wide transformation of end-to-end participant experiences, requiring deep expertise in retirement plan administration, regulatory compliance, and product strategy to deliver seamless, modern solutions that enhance the participant journey while ensuring operational excellence and fiduciary responsibility. **Key Responsibilities** + **Product Strategy & Experience Transformation** Drive the strategic vision and roadmap for retirement distribution products as part of our comprehensive end-to-end experience transformation initiative. Lead the reimagining of participant journeys from initial distribution requests through final processing, ensuring cohesive experiences across all touchpoints. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for product enhancement and innovation in the distributions space. + **End-to-End Process Redesign** Champion the transformation of legacy distribution processes into modern, integrated experiences that span digital and human-assisted channels. Collaborate with experience design teams to map current state journeys, identify pain points, and architect future state experiences that prioritize participant outcomes and operational efficiency. + **Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management** Ensure all distribution products comply with ERISA, IRS regulations, and DOL requirements while supporting our transformation objectives. Collaborate with compliance teams to navigate complex regulatory landscapes including required minimum distributions (RMDs), hardship provisions, and loan regulations under sections 401(k) and 403(b), building compliance seamlessly into modernized experiences. + **Cross-Platform Integration** Lead initiatives to create unified experiences across our digital platforms, call centers, and service delivery channels. Partner with technology teams to ensure distribution processes integrate smoothly with our broader ecosystem transformation, including mobile applications, web portals, and assisted service channels. + **Stakeholder Management & Change Leadership** Partner with cross-functional teams including operations, technology, legal, compliance, and client services to deliver seamless distribution experiences as part of our broader transformation. Serve as the primary product expert for internal stakeholders and external plan sponsors, advocating for participant-centric design throughout the transformation process. + **Process Optimization & Modernization** Lead initiatives to streamline withdrawal processes, loan administration, and terminated employee distributions as part of our end-to-end experience transformation. Focus on reducing processing times, improving accuracy, and enhancing the digital experience while maintaining strict fiduciary standards and ensuring smooth transitions between legacy and transformed processes. + **Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring** Analyze product performance metrics, participant behavior patterns, and operational efficiency indicators across the transformed experience landscape. Use insights to drive continuous improvement of integrated experiences and inform strategic decisions about future transformation priorities. + **Participant Experience Excellence** Champion participant-centric design principles to create intuitive, accessible distribution processes that work seamlessly across our transformed service delivery model. Work closely with UX teams to optimize digital interfaces, communication strategies, and omnichannel experiences that meet participants where they are in their journey. **Required Qualifications** + **Education & Experience** bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred. Minimum 8 years of product management experience in financial services, with at least 5 years focused on retirement plan administration or employee benefits. Demonstrated experience leading product transformation initiatives or large-scale experience redesign projects + **Technical Expertise** Deep understanding of retirement plan regulations, distribution rules, and tax implications. Proven experience with loan processing, hardship withdrawals, and in-service distributions. Knowledge of recordkeeping systems and data management practices. Experience with digital transformation and systems integration projects. + **Leadership & Communication** Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams through transformational change. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with proven success presenting to senior leadership and external clients about transformation initiatives and their business impact. + **Analytical Skills** Proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies. Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical product solutions and communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences. Experience measuring and optimizing end-to-end experience metrics. **Preferred Qualifications** + Professional certifications such as QKA (Qualified 401(k) Administrator), QPA (Qualified Pension Administrator), or similar credentials. Experience with digital transformation initiatives in the financial services industry. Background in agile product development methodologies and design thinking approaches. Experience with omnichannel experience design and customer journey mapping.
