Job Summary: 
As a Product Development Consultant in the Electric Power Division, your work ensures our customers get the most value from our products and services by working with them to identify potential improvements to existing products or new products. You will also support go-to-market initiatives, sales execution, and training as a subject matter expert in your assigned portfolio. Your knowledge will be critical to align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions.  
 
What You’ll Do: 
In this role, you will spend most of your time interacting with customers to develop a deep understanding of their needs and our positioning in the competitive landscape. This role will focus on <200kW generator sets in North America. 

Evaluating processes to identify improvements in product development and design. Provide input to maximize production efficiency and product performance. 

Communicating technical specifications and instructions to ensure product quality and performance. Tracking and managing the status of product issues. 

Understanding the competitive landscape and how our products align with those of our competitors. 

Providing product application expertise at point of sale, or by delivering various types of product training including applied technology, job efficiency, and safety to customers. 

 

What You Have: 

Customer Focus: Extensive experience and knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions. 

Effective Communications: Extensive experience and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas. 

Relationship Management: Extensive experience and knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers. 

Products and Services: Working knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations. 

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Working knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. 

 
Additional Information: 

This position is located in Dallas, TX and requires on-site availability when not traveling 

Travel is expected 50% of the time 

Domestic Relocation is available for those who qualify

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
