Description
SActalent's client in Surrey is seeking a Sr Process Engineer to join their team. The Sr Process Engineer will be responsible for executing design calculations for various equipment and processes, communicating with the project team, prepare P&IDs and PFDs, write control narratives, prepare operating manuals, participate in Hazops, resolve Hazop issues, fill in equipment data sheets and instrument data sheets, equipment sizing & selection, prepare line lists, communicate with client, assist with preparation of proposals, perform Hysis runs, prepare operating manuals, support commissioning efforts, troubleshoot operational problems, and any other process design group functions as required.
TOP 5 REPEATABLE TECHNICAL DUTIES
- Perform hydraulic calculations
- Run simulations to determine feasibility etc.
- Lead process design work, overseeing project from process standpoint
- Review and approve junior/intermediate engineer design work
- Communicate efficiently across muli-discipline teams
SOFT SKILLS
- Strong communication; keeps discipline teams updated on projcet progress
---> Client facing, will need to be able to manage different personalities and provide project updates
- Attention to detail; no need to review their work
MUST HAVE
- 7-10+ years experience within process engineering from LNG, Natural Gas, RNG industries
- Client facing experience - dealing with counterparts on client side; communications regarding technical work
- 2+ years leading a team of 2 or more direct reports
- P Eng
- Software: Hysys (non negotiable)
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience within LNG/LPG projects
- Renewables experience (solar, wind, hydrogen, carbon capture)
- US PE
- AspenTech (simulation software - ideally but not crucial)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
On site in Surrey Office. May consider Calgary candidates if can prove ability to work independently - would need to work in Vancouver for first couple of months.
Hours/Shift: M-F, 7:30am-5pm - Unpaid lunch
Hybrid: Fridays - HOME. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - OFFICE
Note: Half day every Friday -11am finish
Note: currently leads logging 45 hours per week on average.
Note: MUST have own device for WFH Fridays - connect through internal VPN portal. Alternatively, can work from office on Fridays.

Team Size: Disciplined Project engineering leads report to the functional dept. Heads and work closely with the PM who handles most of the client facing responsibility and P&L for project.

The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $100.00/hr.
