Northrop Grumman is seeking a talented Senior Principal Systems Engineer, to join our Systems Engineering Integration & Test team under the Tactical Fighters Business Unit. Candidate should have a very strong Electrical Engineering background and ability to expand beyond a box-level design to a system-level perspective. This position will be located in Linthicum, MD. **Roles & Responsibilities:** + Application of systems engineering processes to develop systems that meet customer requirements. + Support preparations, execution, and resolution of major system design reviews (e.g., PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR, Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs), etc.) + Work with the SEIT Lead to oversee system configuration management of the System Technical Baseline + Participating in all facets of flight test planning and execution in multiple areas including requirements development, test planning, test event preparation, and test coordination. + Execution includes planning the event (preparing flight profiles and test cards, etc.), briefing (pre/post), leading the event, and completing post event reporting such as a flash report. + Develop and execute ground test procedures and support active flight line testing. + Responsible for coordinating appropriate resources and assets for the event (aircrew, airspace, etc.) with the scheduling team in support of the test event. The candidate may also be responsible for chase vehicle duties. + Provide support for post-test data processing and analysis as required to support test objectives + Provide first line engineering support for maintenance, repairs, and modifications to systems under test, supervision, and direction to maintenance personnel for maintenance, repairs, and modifications to systems under test. + Analyze and interpret test data, provide recommendations to engineering and leadership for alternate means of compliance as required, and support development and execution of test objectives. + Interface with the customer to assist in the development and modification of test plans as required to support test. **This position is contingent upon transfer of DoD Secret Clearance with** **Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start** **Basic Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, a Master's degree with 6 years of experience, or a PhD with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics or other related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. + U.S Citizenship is required. + Active DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access (SAP) is required . + Experience with system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentation. + Experience participating in major systems reviews, including SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, etc. + Prior experience selecting workstations and server hardware. + Prior experience integrating several different types of hardware into system (designing rack layouts, cabling) **Preferred Qualifications:** + Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineer, or Mathematics or other related technical fields. + Active Secret clearance or higher + Technical expertise in RF Sensors sensor systems + Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements + Experience effectively communicating and presenting complex technical concepts to project, program, and company management, other technical managers, and customers. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  Salary Range: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
