We are seeking either a Principal Systems Engineer or Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our Phoenix program. This position is located in Redondo Beach, CA.
Core responsibilities:
Refine software architectures & design software capabilitiesCreate requirements for software capabilities and trace back to higher level system requirementsApply knowledge of systems engineering principles and processesParticipate in all aspects of Systems Engineering throughout the full program lifecycle (concept definition, design, and test), using model based systems engineering (MBSE) methodsAssist with definition of high level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, subsequent analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, and tracking them through design, verification, and integrationPartner with subject matter experts and technology experts to execute the systems engineering statement of workThis requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Systems Engineer: 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's in STEM; 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's' in STEM; 0 years of relevant experience with a PhDSenior Principal Systems Engineer: 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's in STEM; 6 years of relevant experience with a Master's' in STEM; 3 years of relevant experience with a PhDTop Secret clearance required at the time of application, and the ability to obtain SCIProven experience in generating requirements and tracing between levels of requirementsAbility to create use cases with Subject Matter Experts with little guidanceGeneral understanding of software development (i.e. inputs/outputs, edge cases, unit test, feature testing, automated testing)Experience with assigning verification methods and test procedure generationPreferred Qualifications:
Comfortable with Agile Tools such as Jira & ConfluenceMission planning experienceBackground in software development and software architectureExperience in space domainAble to organize and present information from Powerpoint to medium to large audiencesSalary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00Salary Range 2: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
