Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) is seeking Senior Principal IPT HW Architect.
What You’ll Get to Do:
IPT Level Role, responsible for the Hardware Architecture of a major segment of an extremely complex system that incorporates mature and emerging technologies. The Hardware Architect is responsible for analyzing overarching needs by using a structured and logical approach, and developing System Architecture solutions and concepts for various new and emerging capabilities, in collaboration with other architects, including the lead Systems Architect, software architects, cyber architects, and others internal, customer, and supplier stakeholders.
This position will serve on-site in the greater Baltimore, MD area OR Redondo Beach, CA.
This position is contingent upon acquiring and maintaining the necessary US Government security clearance per customers’ requirements.
Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal IPT HW Architect:
• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 6 years of experience with Master's degree, 4 years of experience with PhD
• Demonstrated experience with the Systems Development Lifecycle and successfully supporting major reviews
• Demonstrated experience working with architectural studies, technical baseline definition, requirements & interface management
• Demonstrated experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML/MBSE)
• Strong understanding of Systems Engineering fundamentals, principles, and processes, specifically system architecture
• Strong understanding of hardware design principles, computer architecture, and relevant technologies
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong technical briefing skills
• This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen
• Current active DoD TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph
Preferred Qualifications for Senior Principal IPT HW Architect:
• Current active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
• Certification: INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification
• Experience with MBSE and Requirements management tools, such as Cameo and DOORS
• Familiarity with hardware/software integration, test planning & execution, or operational support
• Full custom circuit card design cycle (concept through production) experience, e.g. FPGAs, DDR memory, high speed serdes, and microprocessors
• Experience working with embedded software engineers / defining interfaces with software teams for microprocessors/microcontrollers
• Experience with some combination of modeling, design, and verification tools, such as: Cadence Virtuoso and Assura, Keysight ADS, NX, ANSYS HFSS, SOLIDWORKS, MATLAB
