12+ years working on the development of mission critical, large-scale systemsDeep experience with complex distributed systems and parallel distributed algorithmsDeep experience with SQL query runtime concepts includingDistributed Query PlanningQuery optimizationQuery re-writeStrong knowledge of Java, C++, or CDeep knowledge of relational algebra, B-Tree/LSM-Tree storage engines, and indexing strategiesFamiliarity with consensus protocols (Paxos or Raft) and the trade-offs of the CAP TheoremStrong knowledge of concurrent programming in distributed environmentsStrong troubleshooting skillsExperience working in large scale cloud environments, ideally on cloud software serviceA relentless curiosity for new technologies, programming paradigms, and systemsMS, or PHD in computer science or equivalent industry experience
