Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a, Mid-Level and Senior-Level Pipe Support Engineer, for a 12-month contract assignment in Reston, VA.
These are hybrid positions and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the Reston office (12011 Sunset Hills Road / 20190). U.S. Citizenship is required Local or Regional candidates highly preferred (per diem is not available) Mid-Level base pay rate: $75.00/hour Senior-Level base pay rate: $90.00/hour
Project Overview:
These positions will support the Natrium project - part of a DOE initiative to advance U.S. leadership in nuclear energy production. Natrium will play a key role in this advancement with development of a 345 MWe sodium fast reactor (SFR).
Job Summary:
Pipe & Valve Engineer will be responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and reviewing plant design and piping work requirements. The candidate’s technical input will ensure configuration compliance, procurement requirements are met, and complex issues are resolved.?
Responsibilities: Preparation and execution of material requisitions for bulk pipe, valves and supports, and other piping components. Preparation of pipe and piping component related calculations, minimum pipe wall thickness calculations, and material evaluations to ASME B31.1, B31.1 and other codes & standards. Prepare, coordinate, and maintain piping and valve technical specifications, piping material class sheets/specifications and/or material requisitions, bid evaluations and award recommendations. Perform detailed supplier bid technical evaluations and supplier document reviews. Coordinate with Supply Chain function (Buyers, Expeditors, etc.) as well as various suppliers regarding technical requirements of purchase orders. Disposition of supplier deviation requests and Request for Information (RFIs). Disposition of Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) and Field Change Documents (FCDs) generated by Construction. Education / Experience: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience for Mid Level 9-12 years of relevant work experience for Senior Level Required Knowledge and Skills: Knowledgeable of standard piping codes such as ASME B31.1, B31.3, IPC, etc. Prior experience developing piping material class sheets & technical specifications. Knowledge of Smart Reference Data (SRD) in the creation of Piping Specifications (Preferred). Familiar with Smart Plant Reference Data (Preferred). Familiar with Oracle Agile (Preferred).
