Senior Pilot Plant Operator

Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, seeks a Senior Pilot Plant Operator to join our Pilot Plant Reaction Group located in Chicago, IL. The Pilot Plant Operator will primarily be responsible for preparing and operating reactors, blenders and other equipment for conducting process development, research, or market development manufacturing in accordance with the written and oral instructions given by Pilot Plant supervisors and engineers.

What You Will Do:

Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with all Ecolab policies as well as regulatory agenciesPrepare and operate reactors, blenders, and other equipment for conducting process development, research, or market development manufacturingUse basic laboratory instruments (such as a pH meter, viscosity) and record the results of operator tests on log sheets or other documentsPrepare & label drums, pails, totes, bags, and other containers for transport or storage of raw materials, intermediates, or productsUse safety equipment such as respirators, hard hats, glovesEnsure constant communication with all levels of management in the areas of safety, processing, production, maintenance, and environmental issues.Mix and package a quality product using proper procedures and adherence to all job packets and quality standards in cooperation with the Quality Assurance DepartmentClean and maintain production areas, tools, and machinery in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, 5S Standards and Job Safety AnalysisParticipate in Management of Change, Job Safety Analysis, Job Hazard Analysis, and Pre-Startup Safety ReviewPerforms in-process reviews and product signoffsKeep supervisor informed of inventory and raw material suppliesAssist in tracking performance by making entries into the required databasesEnsure proper, accurate, and timely reporting of all daily requirementsWork as a team with other operators, production leads, and managers to achieve goals

Position Details:

Plant location: Clearing, IL (Chicago)Work week and shift: 3PM - 1:30AM, Monday to ThursdayCompensation starting at $30 per hour, depending on experience

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent5 years of process operator experienceAbility to read and interpret batch orders and other documents in EnglishImmigration sponsorship not provided for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

Secondary education in chemistry, process technology, or a related field

Basic Computer skills and ability to learn CAS/ECO, Microsoft

Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:

The pay range for this role is $30.00 to $39.00 per hour. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
