Senior Payroll Consultant
Our Client, a Hospitals And Health Care company, is looking for a Senior Payroll Consultant for their Remote location. Responsibilities: + Responsible for leading, planning, administering and overseeing the activities of the payroll operations team. This includes leading, developing and coaching a team of direct reports as well as setting department goals, objectives, policies, procedures and oversight of a complex centralized payroll program. Responsible for timely and accurate payroll preparation/processing, tax reporting while ensuring compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local tax laws. + Leads a team while performing all management duties, including budgeting, hiring, performance reviews, coordinating and scheduling work, salary recommendations, development, leadership, grievance resolution, coaching, counseling, and modeling core values at all times. + Keeps up to date and ensures compliance with governmental regulations and requirements for payroll wage and hour, garnishments, deductions, benefits, retirement, fringe benefits, time off, and compliance. Maintains knowledge of trends and best practices. Makes recommendations and applies the knowledge to maintain the integrity of the payroll function. + Leads the operational supervision of the payroll function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll. Holds team accountable for excellent customer service and resolves escalations that may arise. + Properly files all tax returns and meets reporting requirements for state wage detail reporting, new hire reporting, W2 preparation, while monitoring the accuracy and ensuring that all deadlines are met. + Implements, documents, and continuously improves payroll processes that include document retention, manual checks, overpayment, manual deductions, gross pay calculations, deferred compensation, garnishments, levies, child support, relocation, etc. Is a champion of change. + Evaluates and improves audit, disaster recovery, and record retention processes and procedures. + Establishes an annual plan (including year-end activities) in collaboration with Finance, HRIS, IS, and other key stakeholders. Communicates, collaborates, and acts as a consultant both internally and externally (audits, legal counsel, etc.). + Evaluates and audits payroll program specifications within the technology systems. Requirements: + Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in business administration, human resources or accounting + 7 years of relevant experience direct payroll experience Required + 3 years of relevant experience supervisory Required + 3 years of relevant experience a fully automated time & attendance / payroll environment within a large, multi-site organization.
