Overview

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be part of the ICE Bonds Database Dev/DBA team and work in a high-energy, collaborative environment. This role encompasses the full spectrum of database operations including system design, development, troubleshooting, performance optimization, data analysis, implementation, and ongoing support. You will be responsible for ongoing software development for one or more trading platforms, interfacing with users and management in the planning of major functionality, analyzing business functional requirements to determine the scope of work, evaluating available application alternatives to support business needs, and managing resource planning/constraints. Discretion and independent judgment are required on a daily basis.

Strong technical expertise in Oracle database development and administrationConduct PL/SQL or SQL development to solve business problemGood knowledge of Unix shell programmingGood knowledge in Perl programmingWorking knowledge in Python programmingAnalytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to work under pressure and excellent problem-solving skillsConduct database administrative work to support for production systemProvide support for QA and Development systems.Identify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize database systemsSuperior organizational skills with attention to detailSelf-directed work style with minimal supervision requirementsWeekend on call participation

Knowledge and Experience

7+ years of experience in Oracle database developmentExtensive knowledge on developing database applications in PL/SQL-Triggers, Packages, Functions, Procedures, Complex SQL, Oracle Collection, Object Types knowledge and experience2+ years of experience in Unix shell programming2+ years of experience in Perl programmingRAC experience is a plusPython programming experience is a plusExperience with managing and troubleshooting databases in high performance, multi-user applicationsSQL Query tuning using different tools. Clear understanding of query planExcellent problem solving, issue identification, analytical and technical documentation skillsProfessionalism, positive outlook, respect and courtesy to customers and all associates and excellent team playerStrong written and verbal communication skillUnderstand SDLC process and tools, agile program management concepts and version control
