Position Summary:

This Senior Oracle Database Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated solutions for managing and optimizing Oracle databases within an organization. This role requires a strong knowledge of Oracle database administration, architecture, replication, high availability concepts, programming, and automation to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of Oracle database systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop and maintain automated solutions for Oracle database technologiesDesign, develop and maintain automated solutions for Oracle database deployments, configuration, backup and recovery, monitoring and performance tuningCollaborate with software development teams to integrate Oracle database automation process into the software development cycleImplement and maintain Oracle database automation frameworks, tools, and scrips to streamline database operations and enhance efficiencyIdentify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the Oracle database environment and propose innovative solutionsPerform troubleshooting and resolving Oracle database-related issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, developers, and network engineersEnsure high availability and optimal performance of production Oracle databases through effective automation strategies and monitoring techniquesConduct regular performance analysis and capacity planning to optimize Oracle database resourcesDocument Oracle database automation process, procedures and configuration to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance with organization standardsKeep up to date with the latest industry trends and advancement in Oracle database automation technologies

Required Qualifications

7+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle database administration including RAC and Data Guard5+ years of proficiency in troubleshooting incidents, database performance tuning, Disaster Recovery, database upgrades and migrations, capacity management, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with 24x7 on-call support rotationExperience in scripting languages for automation tasksExperience with Cloud, e.g., GCP, Azure, AWS, etc.Experience with Oracle Golden Gate and Open-Source databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$130,295.00 - $260,590.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
