Job Purpose

The selected Senior Database Developer will be part of the database team and play a role in the analysis, design, implementation, and support of the Risk Data Governance and Trading systems.

 

The candidate will be responsible for ongoing software development for a business line. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders and management to plan and deliver major functionality, translating functional requirements into well‑defined scopes of work, and assessing application options to meet business needs. The position requires regular use of independent judgment and discretion.

 

This position is a full-time job in the Atlanta office.

 

Responsibilities

Strong technical knowledge in Oracle database developmentConduct PL/SQL or SQL development to solve business needsProvide support for Production, QA, and Development systemsIdentify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize database systemsCollaborate and actively participate in discussions on technical issues

 

Knowledge and Experience

80% PL/SQL development work and 20% Database Administration work7+ years' experience with OracleExperience developing database applications in PL/SQL-Triggers, Packages, Functions, Procedures, Complex SQL, Oracle Collections, Object Types knowledge and experienceMust have work experience working in Unix/Linux. RAC experience is a plusSome Shell or Perl experienceGolden Gate experience a plusSQL Query tuning using different tools. Clear understanding of query plan managementPostgres experience a plusExcellent problem solving, issue identification, analytical and technical documentation skillsAbility to multi-task a mustStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environmentGood written and verbal communication skillsWilling to take on-call rotation and occasional weekend workAbility to work in a fast-paced business environment
