Senior Network Expert - Internet Gateway

Meet the Team  

As a member of our high-performing network engineering organization, you will join a group of elite technical experts dedicated to maintaining the backbone of our connectivity. You will serve as the ultimate technical authority and team leader for our critical Internet Gateway (IGW) infrastructure, collaborating with multi-functional teams to ensure seamless service delivery and innovation.  

 

Your Impact  

In this role, you will drive operational excellence by overseeing day-to-day IT network operations and ensuring we exceed SLAs, KPIs, and customer expectations. You will:  

Lead Technical Strategy: Act as the technical team leader and authority for IGW infrastructure, embedding ITIL best practices into every workflow.  

Enhance Service Quality: Continuously assess and improve processes, SOPs, and Disaster Recovery (DR) procedures to ensure optimal resilience.  

Empower the Team: Coach team members and act as a trusted advisor, bridging the gap between complex technical requirements and business needs.  

Strengthen Relationships: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver performance insights, optimize P&L, and drive customer satisfaction.  

Solve Complex Problems: Deconstruct and resolve highly complex, cross-domain technical issues during high-severity incidents.  

 

Minimum Qualifications  

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.  

Service Provider Experience: 10–15 years of hands-on experience in Tier-1/Tier-2 Service Provider IGW environments.  

Technical Mastery: 10-15 years of hands-on experience with Juniper MX/PTX platforms and significant expertise with Cisco ASR/NCS platforms.  

Subscriber Edge Expertise: Strong knowledge of BNG/BRAS platforms (Juniper, Cisco, Nokia), including AAA integration, policy control, and session management.  

Protocol Expert: Expert-level proficiency in BGP and traffic engineering at internet scale.  

  

Preferred Qualifications  

Advanced Education: Master’s degree in a technical field.  

Elite Certifications: CCIE-SP, JNCIE-SP, CISSP, or Cloud-specific certifications.  

Automation & Observability: Proficiency in Python scripting for network automation and experience with observability stacks (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana) for important metric storytelling.  

Certifications: Professional-level ITIL (e.g., ITIL Intermediate/Managing Professional).  

Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated ability to lead service improvement initiatives and drive operational efficiency in multi-functional environments.  

Analytical Skills: Strong reporting and presentation skills, with the ability to map customer services to complex network infrastructure components. 

 

  

Hours of work: 48 hours per week
