Job Title: Senior Merchandise Accountant

Job Description

Join our team as a Merchandise Senior Staff Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, resolving inquiries, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. You will play a key role in the financial closing processes and collaborate with various departments to improve and streamline operations.

Responsibilities

Communicate with wholesale vendors regarding invoice inquiries, payment status, and payment discrepancies.Research and resolve vendor and store operator inquiries.Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising and Logistics, to resolve issues and streamline processes.Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.Perform ad-hoc duties as needed.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in general ledger, journal entry, reconciliation, acquisitions, and data analysis.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.2-5+ years of relevant work experience.Understanding of accounting procedures, concepts, and internal control processes.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work environment with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote each week. The role requires collaboration across departments, providing a dynamic and engaging work setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irving, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
