Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in water systems, focusing on pump stations, valves, piping design, hydraulics, and dam engineering. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to high-profile projects in the Christchurch area.

Leads packages within multidisciplinary three-waters and/or dams engineering projects, applying mechanical engineering judgement and sector experience.Develops, validates, and integrates mechanical design inputs using established methodologies, relevant standards, asset owner specifications, and industry best practice.Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works. Conduct hydraulic analyses to ensure optimal system performance and compliance with industry standards.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in mechanical design and project execution.Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver exceptional results.Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.10+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in water systems.Strong knowledge of pump station design, piping design, valves, and hydraulics.Experience in dam engineering is highly desirable.Proficient in relevant engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Registration as a Chartered Engineer is preferred.
