Sr Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for a sr Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading Automation Solutions provider in the Greater Columbus Area. This role involves developing well-engineered mechanical designs for mechanisms used in automated assembly systems across various industries, including life sciences, food & beverage, transportation, consumer products, and energy.

Responsibilities

Execute mechanical detail design projects for automated systems within life sciences and automotive sectors.Collaborate with a team of 10 other mechanical design engineers.Utilize SolidWorks for design projects to produce layout, assembly-level and detail drawings, bills of materials, and specifications.Work with project team members to meet or exceed customer expectations regarding function, quality, and schedule.

Essential Skills

8+ years of mechanical design experience within industrial automation or machine design.SolidWorks design experience.Experience with robot integration, understanding of pneumatics and servo drives.Experience with automated equipment, automation systems, automated machinery, conveyor systems, 3D design, mechanical engineering design, servo drives, and control logic.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an Engineering discipline, or equivalent high-level experience.8+ years of automation experience, with at least 2 years in Automation Mechanical Design.Experience with 3D design within SolidWorks.Experience with automated equipment, turn-key equipment, or strong mechanical design.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lewis Center, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.67 - $57.69/hr.
