Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer leads the development, optimization, validation, and sustainment of manufacturing processes for regulated medical devices. This role collaborates with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Production to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective manufacturing throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in medical device processes, strong technical acumen, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Develop, optimize, validate, and sustain manufacturing processes for medical devices.Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Production teams.Ensure manufacturing processes are safe, compliant, and cost-effective.Lead process validation activities including IQ, OQ, and PQ.Design fixtures and tooling using CAD.Implement continuous improvement initiatives.Manage risk through PFMEA and DFMEA.Engage with contract manufacturers and global suppliers.

Essential Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Biomedical, or related engineering field.5+ years of experience in the medical device industry.5+ years in product development, verification/validation, or process/manufacturing engineering.Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes.Proficiency with CAD.Experience in process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).Understanding of risk management and process controls.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Familiarity with ultrasound technology.Experience working with contract manufacturers or global suppliers.Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.Strong business acumen.Ability to work with urgency in high-pressure situations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Early-stage or start-up experience strongly preferred.Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eden Prairie, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $57.00/hr.
