MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This position is a part of Structural Heart’s Strategic sourcing and category management team within supply chain. This position is responsible for driving gross margin improvement through negotiation, supplier transfer projects, and supplier process improvement. This position is responsible for assessing supplier risks, develop and implement supplier resiliency actions. This position manages core categories, segments and selects strategic suppliers globally, negotiates large complex supply agreements, develops supply chain commodity management strategies, prepares cost-benefit analysis, negotiates and manages contracts, and manages supplier relations. Additionally, this position needs to work directly with Global Procurement, Program Management, NPI, Legal, Finance, and manufacturing sites to create an effective supply chain for new and on market products. This position provides strategic leadership to multiple sites regarding broad purchasing policies and practices in support of quality, cost and service.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and owns category strategy and supplier strategy based on Structural Heart’s technology roadmapPartners with cross-functional teams to understand current and future business needs for supplier capabilities to build a technology roadmap for the categoryDevelop multi-year gross margin improvement strategy involving broad spectrum levers not limited to periodic negotiations, supplier transfer projects, supplier process improvements and deliver on gross margin improvement initiatives in line with business goalsParticipate in standard cost setting process, and provide guidance to site supply chain and finance annuallySegment suppliers, and develop segmented supplier relationship management strategy and engagement planDevelop and advance sourcing and supply strategies throughout each stage of the product lifecycle, including new product launch planning and execution through to product rationalization and end of life.Own and deliver on strategy to execution on large complex master supply agreementsPartner with manufacturing sites, network strategy, new product development teams to build ideation pipeline for risk mitigation and margin improvementEffectively negotiate and facilitate win-win solutions with suppliers throughout the global supply chainHas deep experience in should-cost models, understanding supplier production processes and sources of valueUtilizes market trends and internal/external competitive benchmarks to influence supply chain solutions.Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.Able to build collaborative relationships with and influence a matrixed organization of R&D, NPI, Finance, PMO, Site SC, Manufacturing teamsMaintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and suppliersQUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelors Degree (± 16 years) Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance or related field.
Masters Degree (± 18 years) engineering, business or supply chain Preferred
Experience
Minimum 10 years Progressively responsible experience in materials management/purchasing.5+ years planning, engineering, or leadership experience in a manufacturing setting7 years’ experience managing a team7 years’ experience working in a highly regulated environment and proven familiarity with applicable regulations.5 years’ experience working with MRP, DRP, ERP, forecasting, inventory management within SAP or similar system software.Experience negotiating terms with vendors, suppliers and contractors. Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred. Ability to work in a highly matrix’ed and geographically diverse business environment.Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment. Strong verbal and written communications to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.Able to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines in timely manner. The base pay for this position is $129,300.00 – $258,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
