THE ROLE
We’re looking for an experienced and strategic leader to drive the evolution of our Promotional Capabilities in support of Circle K’s long-term merchandising strategy. In this role, you will work cross-functionally to lead the implementation of promotional planning and analytics tools, helping to embed a data-driven approach to decision-making across the organization.
You will be responsible for owning the Promotional Capabilities roadmap, leading the development of analytical solutions, and designing scalable, user-centric business processes. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of strategic thinking, analytical depth, and operational leadership, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and guide a high-performing team. This role is critical in shaping how Circle K plans, executes, and measures promotions, ensuring sustained business impact through smarter, more effective merchandising.

Own the roadmap and advancement of Promotional Capabilities, aligning with enterprise merchandising strategy.Oversee, manage, and coach the Promotional Capabilities team in North America, fostering growth and accountability.Act as an agent of change, championing a data-driven approach to merchandising decision-making, with a focus on promotions.Collaborate with Global Functions and Business Unit leaders to drive the adoption of tools and ways of working across markets.Lead the design and implementation of promotional analytics tools in North America by partnering with App Dev, Data Engineering, and Analytics teams to build scalable, user-centric solutions.Provide strategic direction to the cross-functional Promotions Capabilities pod, aligning project priorities and resources with enterprise goals.Drive end-to-end delivery of new promotional capability initiatives, from concept through implementation.Identify process gaps and lead continuous improvement initiatives, sharing best practices and embedding them in merchandising workflows.Serve as the subject matter expert for promotional data, tools, and processes across strategic initiatives.Lead cross-functional investigations and resolution efforts related to promotional data integrity and reporting accuracy.Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and retail best practices to inform long-term promotional capability planning.Partner with the Center of Excellence and PMO teams to socialize new tools, build training content, and embed capabilities into day-to-day operations.Support global expansion of promotional capabilities through knowledge transfer, tool scaling, and capability building in new regions (e.g., Europe).WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree or equivalent experience is an asset.Experience:
5–7 years of experience in merchandising, category management, retail strategy, or capability development, with exposure to tech-enabled transformation preferred.Knowledge and skills:
Experience managing, guiding, and mentoring a team.Demonstrated success driving capability development across people, process, and technology.Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive adoption of new tools and processes.Strong problem-solving skills with a bias for action and an ownership mindset.Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive enterprise-wide change, delivering measurable business impact through strong stakeholder collaboration.Strategic thinker with the ability to develop frameworks and translate them into actionable execution plans.Comfortable navigating ambiguity, complexity, and change in a fast-paced environment; able to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives.Skilled at translating business needs into user requirements and collaborating with technical teams to deliver digital solutions; experience working in agile environments and familiarity with tools like JIRA.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively bridge business and technical stakeholders.Strong understanding of retail merchandising and promotional planning processes; experience in a global or matrixed organization is a plus.Familiarity with category management tools and principles is an asset.Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with collaboration platforms (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, Confluence, JIRA) and data tools (e.g., Power BI, Databricks) is a plus.Flexibility with working hours required due to the global scope of the role and collaboration across time zones.Travel required 10% of time, some international.Passport or travel documentation/visa required.WHY YOU SHOULD WORK HERE:
