As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking and Wealth Management team, you will play a crucial role in an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable.

Job responsibilities

Executes creative software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure, high-quality production code; reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues, improving overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to probe architectural designs, assess technical credentials, and determine applicability within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologiesParticipates in design and code reviews, incorporates security and non-functional requirements into designs, and provides input on information/data flowIncorporates modern architectural standards into application design specificationsTakes ownership of business-critical and complex applications
 


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with 5+ years of applied experienceHands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stabilityAdvanced proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, SQL)Strong skills in automation and continuous delivery methodsProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Sonar), application resiliency, and security practicesDemonstrated expertise in software applications and technical processes within technical domains such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and mobile technologiesIn-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and related IT systemsExposure to UI frameworks such as Angular (version 4+) or ReactJSKnowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, PL/SQL, ORM frameworks (e.g., MyBatis, Hibernate), and basic Linux/UNIX skills
