What is the opportunity?
Lead the visionary transformation of RBC’s Commercial and Private Banking physical network across Canada, redefining our 3 to 5-year market coverage. In this strategic leadership role, you will integrate data-driven insights and strong stakeholder partnerships to position RBC for sustainable growth in a rapidly evolving financial landscape.
What will you do?
Lead the strategic direction of RBC’s Commercial and Private Banking physical footprint with a 3-5yr roadmap that optimizes market coverage, client access and operational efficiency.Use geospatial analytics, client behavior insights and macroeconomic trends to identify growth opportunities, right-size physical footprint and prioritize high-impact locations.Oversee strategic lease negotiations, renewals, and site selection while balancing cost, risk and alignment with RBC’s distribution transformation strategyConduct ongoing competitor analysis, demographic studies, and regulatory impact assessments to inform network strategy and risk mitigationApply advanced data and analytics to develop clear recommendations and support decision makingLead qualitative and quantitative market research on new developments and competitor activity, assessing economic, regulatory and growth trendsTranslate insights into forward-looking plans that shape the Branch, Commercial and Private Banking physical network and distribution Develop robust business cases, and present clear, compelling recommendations to senior leadership to secure buy-in for transformative initiatives and changes Partner with PNS peers, Regional Leads, Finance, Corporate Real Estate and external partners (CBRE) to ensure seamless execution of network changes and stakeholder alignment, maintaining regular forums to communicate strategies and progressLead special projects and analysis as required, summarizing and presenting findings and recommendations succinctly to executive audiences.What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
Undergraduate degree in Geography, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or Business7+ yrs experience in network strategy, distribution planning or related fieldStrong knowledge of geospatial analytics, personal and commercial banking, including branch network, client segments and profitability driversProven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and influence senior executives through clear, compelling recommendationsAdvanced analytical skills with demonstrated experience using data, geospatial tools, and financials to shape strategy and business casesExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex analysis into simple, action-oriented recommendations for executive audiencesStrong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlinesDemonstrated change leadershipNice to have:
