Senior Manager/Director - Forensic Accountant – Litigation

The Forensic Accounting Services division of Sedgwick are our experts in measuring economic loss. They work extensively with both our loss adjusting colleagues and external parties, such as lawyers, to measure the value of commercial claims. Their work is varied and diverse and includes exposure to claims across a diverse range of industries such as retail, hospitality, mining and logistics. 

 

The FAS team in Australia currently comprises over 30 forensic accountants and due to our continuing evolution is seeking to add a senior team member to help lead and grow our Litigation practice. 

 

The Role:  

 

Litigation Support, Personal Injury, Valuations & Expert Evidence 

Lead end-to-end litigation support engagements, including scope, methodology, assessment, and reporting; 

Quantify loss of earnings in insurance, personal injury, motor accident, and dependency matters, including analysis of past and projected earnings capacity, mitigation assumptions, discounting, and critique of opposing expert reports;  

Lead business valuation engagements for disputes, shareholder matters, commercial negotiations, financial reporting, and solvency/insolvency contexts; and 

Prepare independent expert reports and affidavits, compliant with relevant expert codes of conduct and provide oral testimony as and when required; 

Practice Development 

Contribute to thought leadership, CPD training and seminars, and relationship development with law firms and corporates. 

Building trust and long-term partnerships with clients through responsive, high-quality service. 

Assist with scoping, proposals, fee models, and risk management. 

Uphold independence, ethics, and confidentiality at all times. 

Manage and mentor junior team members  

About you: 

Professional designation: CA (CA ANZ) or CPA (Australia) required. 

7–12+ years in forensic accounting and/or valuation, with substantial litigation support and expert evidence exposure. 

Demonstrated experience preparing independent expert reports and/or giving oral evidence. 

Sector breadth across various industries (e.g., infrastructure, technology, healthcare, mining, consumer).
