The Senior Manager - Community and Market Impact will be responsible for leading overall community impact and strategic partnerships within United’s Chicago hub community. This includes representing United in external engagements, managing contractual relationships with non-profit partners, and enabling how United “shows up locally” in United’s Chicago Hub community. This role will oversee the strategy, budget and stakeholder relationships for United community investments and partnerships in market. Individual leads internal stakeholder working teams and regularly interacts with and influences senior leadership, including key officers and other senior leaders within United Airlines. The role will work across numerous different stakeholder groups to drive United’s external strategy within the global/national partner portfolio. Cross-functional collaboration required with Managing Directors and Directors in market across key internal partners including Government Affairs, Sales, Operations, Corporate Communications, and other key teams internally.
Core accountabilities / key responsibilities:Partnership management and activation
Manage portfolio of external partnerships aligned to team and corporate priorities Identify unique opportunities for partner activations that help achieve team goals Regularly evaluate partnership terms and identify prospects to drive stronger partnership and business value for United through partner relationshipsWhere applicable, facilitate introductions between nonprofit partners and United leaders, other businesses and/or employeesStrategic market and community impact work
Develop and execute strategic plans related to assigned partnersRepresent United externally, lead internal working team meetings, create market-specific initiatives that tie to team goals and identify competitive areas of opportunity in assigned region Track success metrics for all partners, volunteerism, and customer-focused initiativesCommunity investment asset management
Oversee partner assets in ChicagoEngage externally with partners to build relationships that can be leveraged for United to impact United’s brand favorability and customer perception in market Assess leading nonprofits and other local corporations’ community engagement strategy for benchmarking and to identify best practicesCross-divisional collaboration
Responsible for creating and executing cross-divisional workstreams focused on high impact competitive areas, including program and stakeholder managementExternal industry engagement
Optimize industry participation through executive networking to further United business strategic objectives at a local level Leverage partnerships to create platforms that provide the opportunity to deepen customer relationships, influence key opinion leaders and win hearts and minds at a local levelStakeholder Management
Provide leadership and guidance for stakeholders in market, developing local personnel through enabling their continued growth and enhancing their external networksThe base pay range for this role is $127,870.00 to $166,492.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
