You will join a dynamic and collegial team of legal professionals in the Legal Department and be involved in a wide range of activities working to advance strategic priorities while ensuring proper risk management. **Job Overview:**
In this Senior Manager – Strategic Initiatives role, you will be a key member of the Legal Operations team in Toronto. The Senior Manager – Strategic Initiatives will assist in planning, execution and implementation of a number of strategic initiatives and matters for the TD Legal department. The role will involve close collaboration with a number of stakeholders across the TD Legal Department, risk and control functions and other TD business segments and corporate functions to address initiatives with elements of significant change. The Senior Manager – Strategic Initiatives will also work closely with TD Legal executives to execute on priorities and strategy, while also being open to address new and emerging risks and business opportunities – the role requires a consummate team player, solution oriented and willing to dig in to resolve problems, no matter how big or small!
**Job Responsibilities:**
In this role you will:
+ Coordinate and spearhead strategic initiatives within Legal Operations to streamline processes for the legal department
+ Initial strategic initiatives will include risk calibration/review of special category vendor relationships, reimagined 1A operations and processes with respect to vendors leveraged by other TD business segments/corporate functions and assisting with implementation of other Legal department projects
+ Serve as the primary executor of strategic initiatives, ensuring their successful implementation and integration into existing workflows
+ Drive strategic goals, detailed program workplans and implementation roadmaps; define and track key performance indicators as measures of success
+ Leverage technological or operational solutions to improve organizational knowledge use and access
+ Leverage knowledge management capabilities to enhance and optimize TD Legal's internal governance and control programs and other strategic legal operation competencies
+ Partner closely with members of the Legal team and other cross-functional teams across TD to define business requirements
+ Foster an environment that encourages productivity, innovation, process improvement, knowledge management, teamwork, and a high level of professionalism.
+ Provide general assistance across Legal Operations to assist leadership as and when required
**Job requirements:**
What can you bring to TD
+ Bachelor's degree
+ 10 years or more experience in leading strategic change and initiatives at a financial institution
+ Previous experience in writing policies, procedures and documentation, preferable within a legal or regulatory environment.
+ Strong leadership, management, and communication skills, both written and oral
+ Tech-savvy and well-versed in legal enterprise software, tools, and applications including advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite
+ Demonstrated ability to independently deliver initiatives on multiple workstreams concurrently using change management practices to facilitate transitions related to technology, processes, and people
+ Enthusiastic, self-motivated team player with a strong interest in learning, creating efficient processes and a seamless user experience
+ Strategic decision making, sound judgment and strong problem-solving skills required and proven track record in collaborating with diverse stakeholders and influencing change
+ Attention to detail and accuracy in writing and reviewing policies and documents.
+ Highest personal & professional integrity & standards
+ Ability to build relationships
