As a Senior Manager of Data Engineering, you will lead and mentor a team of experienced data engineers and database specialists responsible for designing, building, and optimizing large-scale data pipelines and ETL processes. You will also champion leveraging AI and machine learning technologies driving advanced analytics and business value. You will provide strategic direction, technical guidance, and operational oversight, ensuring the reliable delivery and transformation of high-volume data assets. Your leadership will foster collaboration, resolve conflicts, and drive innovation in data engineering practices, while supporting the enablement of AI and analytics initiatives across the organization.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Database Management, Software Engineering, or a related field, with a proven track record of leading senior technical teams.Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent field.Proven ability to understand, interpret, and work with complex data modelsDeep expertise in designing, building, and optimizing ETL pipelines, data workflows, and large-scale database solutions (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, NoSQL).Strong experience with big data technologies (Spark, Databricks) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).Hands-on experience with AI and machine learning concepts, including practical exposure to Generative AI technologies (such as large language models, generative adversarial networks, or similar).Proficient in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, SQL).Demonstrated experience managing and developing high-performing teams, including conflict resolution and talent development.Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and modern software development practices.Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience working with data intensive SDLC tools such as Jira, Bitbucket etc. with a deep understanding the complex data models.Experience with cloud-based monitoring and operations tools (e.g., Data Dog, Splunk, Grafana).Experience working at code level and with modern infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Jenkins).Strong business acumen and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
