As Senior Manager of UX Design, you'll report directly to the Head of UX Design and Research at Amazon FinTech, leading a team of talented designers in creating innovative financial products that serve Amazon Financials and Global Business Services. The FinTech UX Design & Research Team is seeking a customer-obsessed Senior Manager of UX Design to spearhead our efforts in creating exceptional end-to-end customer experiences. As the driving force behind Amazon Financials' future user experiences, you'll combine strategic thinking with hands-on leadership to inspire and guide our team. The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex problems at scale, bringing both clarity and empathy to their leadership style. You should excel in large organizational settings, leveraging your proven track record of collaboration and strategic thinking. Your holistic view of design—encompassing look & feel and utility—will be crucial as you lead engaging design discussions and iterate based on customer insights. As a design leader, you have a passion for solving our customers' problems, always putting their needs first. Key job responsibilities • Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary design team • Have deep expertise in UX design (frameworks, interaction models, prototypes, research) • Think big, framing designs in the context of the broader customer experience, and are equally comfortable diving deep into the details • Present design work to stakeholders, customers, and executive leadership for review, feedback, and sign-off • Prioritize effectively, use data to inform your decisions, weigh the impact and tradeoffs of decisions, and seek input where needed to drive alignment • Work closely with product, engineering, and business partners to develop a shared vision and lead a process to define and design experiences that deliver on those shared objectives • Comfortable navigating from ambiguity to clarity, drawing upon your expertise and design process to create structure. • Proactively plan ahead, look around corners, and can see the next step (even when it doesn’t exist yet) • Develop processes that drive quality and efficiency to help designers accomplish more than what they could otherwise A day in the life The Sr. Manager of UX Design for FinTech will elevate their entire team. You will inspire and mentor UX practitioners and partners, leading projects throughout the planning, design, and development cycle. You are expected to think like an owner, always raise the quality of the CX, and be a relentless advocate for customers. You will use your organization and communication skills to bring clarity to chaos, working strategically with other team leaders and team members across the organization. Basic Qualifications - 10+ years of design experience - 5+ years of leading multi-discipline Design teams (ie. visual design, interaction design, user research, etc.) experience - Experience managing teams - Experience leading a diverse team in the delivery of experiences from end to end (user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity visuals) Preferred Qualifications - Experience presenting to and effectively advising senior leaders outside of design - Experience embedding design within product teams for agile design and development collaboration - Experience scaling design systems and processes - Experience in financial technology or enterprise software - Track record of successful cross-functional collaboration Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $162,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $268,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
