Position Summary...

What you'll do...

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineer leader with expertise in Machine Learning and Backend development. International Recommendations platform is a multi-tenant framework that powers the personalization experiences for Mexico, Canada, and other Walmart International sites. The team drives innovation in Machine Learning and Application Development to provide personalized results for our customers and drive business KPIs.

About Team:

Focusing on customer, associate and business needs, this team works with Walmart International, which includes more than 5,200 retail units, operating in 23 countries such as Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Mexico and South Africa to name a few.

What you'll do:

Collaborate with cross-functional team members to develop and maintain a well-defined roadmap, while balancing technological excellence.Drive system architecture decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and security. Monitor system performance and continuously optimize applications for efficiency.Implement best practices in software engineering, including DevOps, cloud computing, and agile methodologies.Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.Facilitate coordination of multiple scrum teams to successfully deliver committed feature sets.Driving practices in training, development, and efficiencies across multiple feature teams.Build a culture of continuous learning, growth, and sharing of technological insights.Educate and advocate for engineering best practices within the backend services ecosystem.Recruit, mentor, and develop world-class engineers.Technical Leadership & Architecture ExpertiseStrong ability to design, review, and optimize scalable, high-performance systems using cloud platforms, microservices, ML Platforms and modern software development and ML frameworks.Team & Stakeholder ManagementProven experience in leading and mentoring software engineers while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams (Data Science, Product, Business, Quality Assurance and DevOps) and align technical solutions with business objectives.Execution & Delivery ExcellenceDeep understanding of agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD best practices to ensure timely, high-quality software releases in a fast-paced environment. Uphold high standards in quality and operational/engineering excellence.Problem-Solving & InnovationStrong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges, drive innovation, and leverage emerging technologies for competitive advantage.Customer-Centric MindsetFocus on building solutions that enhance user experience, optimize performance, and drive measurable business impact in Walmart's retail and eCommerce ecosystem.

What you'll bring:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 12 years of experience in software engineering or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 8 years of experience in software engineeringAdvanced knowledge of complex software design, distributed system design, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.  Proficiency in Kafka, No SQL databases.Excellent technical debugging and production support skills.Experience with ML Platform and ML Ops methodologies.Experience with designing and building Feature Store solutions that can support context-aware real-time ML inferencing.Familiarity with public cloud technologies such as Azure and Google Cloud Platform.  Extensive experience in the design, development, and delivery of software products with a large user base.  Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to balance conflicting interests in a complex and fast-paced environment.  Experience with building micro-services and event driven architecture and distributed systems using appropriate design patterns.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...
