Ideal candidates bring technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset to help shape environments that protect guests and associates. Security Design supports the mission of Global Safety & Security (GS&S) in minimizing security and safety controllable losses and ensuring new hotels are compliant with Marriott standards in delivering consistent physical safety and security systems and building features. **CANDIDATE PROFILE** **Education and Experience** _Required_ + Bachelor’s Degree. + 6-8 years’ work experience in the security and safety field. + Construction and architectural and system plan review experience with ability to recommend enhancements, implement requirements and identify synergies as it pertains to safety and security. + General knowledge and understanding of government regulations and safety standards. _Preferred_ + Progressive work experience in the security and safety field with hospitality industry and security and safety design knowledge. + General knowledge of crisis management planning, fire protection, safety and security concepts. + Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification. + Fluent in Spanish. **CORE WORK ACTIVITIES** + Lead the Security Design function for the US, Canada, and CALA regions. + Implement Marriott’s system and design philosophies for all new build, conversions, renovations by incorporating GS&S requirements and incorporating design guidelines and threat condition components. + Design review for egress/ingress, CCTV, access control and safety and project support for new build, conversion, and renovation projects for adherence to Marriott safety and security standards. + Conduct virtual and on-site construction support services including safety and security project control functions (change-order analysis and schedule impacts), cost reduction analysis, submittal reviews, mid-construction site inspections, transition planning (construction to operations), and acceptance testing. + Assist, conduct and complete Property Improvement Plans (PIP) for conversion hotels pertaining to safety and security requirements. + Track and manage active projects, make decisions on complex/non-routine business requests, and verify completion of work and compliance with Marriott design standards. + Share project information and support GS&S Operations team during hotel pre-opening stage and as needed post-opening. + Manage the research of GS&S product/service vendors and serve as a liaison between vendors and end users. + Work with Marriott’s Global Design group to maintain and update Marriott International’s Global Safety and Security policies and standards. + Communicate effectively with managers, team members, project managers, property owners, consultants, engineers, and architects. + Champion team values of integrity, accountability, and respect. + Remain current with emerging technologies, national codes, and best methods for safety and security systems and features. + Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by: + Identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes + Providing training and technical guidance to internal and external stakeholders, where appropriate, and serving as point-of-contact for problem resolution + Achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility + Willingness to travel (25–50%). _At Marriott International, we are dedicated to being an equal opportunity employer, welcoming all and providing access to opportunity.
