What is the opportunity?
You will join the Channel Performance, Initiatives & Analytics team in RBC’s Digital & Personal Distribution (DPD), and play a critical leadership role in shaping the Advice Centre sales planning and cost analytics that inform senior executive decision-making. This role is accountable for end-to-end sales planning, forecasting and performance tracking, as well as comprehensive cost analysis, including cost-to-serve and cost allocation methodologies. You will lead strategic planning initiatives across the Advice Centre, partnering closely with LOBs, Mega Journey & COEs, Workforce Management, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to drive sustainable growth, efficiency, and improved client outcomes.
What will you do?
Lead the development, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of sales planning and forecasting models for the Advice Centre, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and alignment with business strategyOwn end-to-end forecasting processes, including assumptions, scenario analysis, sensitivities, and performance tracking versus planDevelop and deliver cost analytics, including cost-to-serve, unit economics, and cost allocation models to support investment decisions and profitability analysisTranslate complex analytical insights into clear, actionable recommendations for senior executives and business leadersPartner with Lines of Business, Mega Journey & COE, Workforce Management, and Marketing to align sales plans, demand forecasts, campaigns, and capacity strategiesLead cross-functional initiatives from concept to execution, managing timelines, stakeholders, risks, and outcomesEstablish consistent planning and performance management routines, including targets, KPIs, and governance forumsSupport strategic initiatives and business cases with robust financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysisProactively identify opportunities to optimize sales performance, client experience, and operating efficiency through data-driven insightsBuild strong partnerships across analytics, data, and technology teams to ensure high-quality data, sustainable models, and scalable reporting solutionsCollaborate cross-functionally with data experts and business partners, effectively managing multiple priorities, ad-hoc requests, and long-term initiatives in a fast-paced environmentWhat do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Proven experience in sales planning, forecasting, and analytics within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, with a focus on performance management and delivering strategic business insightsDemonstrated expertise in building, updating, and governing forecasting and financial models, including scenario and sensitivity analysis, to anticipate business performance and identify opportunitiesStrong experience leading initiatives end to end, from problem definition through execution and executive deliveryExcellent business acumen with the ability to connect analytics to strategy, financial outcomes, and client impactExceptional communication and storytelling skills, with proven experience presenting insights and recommendations to senior executivesAdvanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to simplify complex analysis into executive-ready materialsExceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectivelyNice-to-have
Background in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), cost management, or profitability analyticsKnowledge in channel operation including the Advice Centre, Digital, and/or Physical Network channelsExperience in supporting sales-driven distribution channels, cost-to-serve methodologies, activity-based costing, or allocation frameworksKnowledge of data management principles, data pipelines, and best practices in handling large datasetsExperience with Tableau for data visualization and dashboard developmentUndergraduate degree in business, mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, economics, or related quantitative fieldMBA, CPA, or equivalent professional designation is an assetWhat’s in it for you?
