This role is critical to scaling and safeguarding the Walmart+ payments ecosystem while elevating customer satisfaction and maximizing recurring revenue.

What you'll do...

Strategy & Partnerships

Identify and assess emerging trends in payments, commerce, and fintech to inform Walmart+ roadmapDevelop and execute strategic payment initiatives that align with business objectives and elevate the member experienceOwn and grow relationships with key external partners (e.g., processors, payment service providers, tax partners)Evaluate and negotiate with new partners to enhance our payment capabilities and reduce operational risk

Technical Expertise & Documentation

Act as a subject matter expert on payment processing, tax reporting, and complianceCollaborate with engineering teams on API integrations and vendor data pipelinesLead creation and maintenance of technical documentation for internal and partner-facing initiatives

Collaboration & Reporting

Partner with data and engineering teams to track and analyze payment product performanceDeliver executive-level reporting, highlighting key metrics, trends, and strategic recommendationsTranslate technical and financial concepts into actionable insights for cross-functional stakeholders

Leadership & Execution

Drive alignment across Product, Engineering, Finance, and Tax to execute strategic programsLead and motivate cross-functional teams to solve complex payment challengesServe as a thought partner to senior leadership, proactively identifying opportunities and risks

What you'll bring...

Minimum Qualifications 

Bachelor's degree AND 2 years’ experience in Payments Strategy, Payments Operations, Fraud/Chargebacks Operations OR 6 years+ experience in Operations Management or related area Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives at scaleStrong communicator with experience presenting to C-level stakeholdersExcellent organizational and prioritization skills in dynamic environmentsStrategic mindset with customer-centric problem solving

Preferred Qualifications 

Proficiency in SQL and comfort working with data-driven metrics and KPIsDeep understanding of payment methods, authorization flows, routing, and regulatory landscape2+ years working in a Payments Strategy & Operations function for a technology-based company.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
