**Purpose of the Role**
The Senior Manager, HR is responsible for developing industrial relations strategies at a large manufacturing site. Reporting to the HR Director, the role ensures constructive relationships with unions, works councils, and employee representatives while supporting business continuity, operational excellence, and workforce engagement.
This role is a key advisor to site leadership on labor and employee relations, ensuring alignment with company policies, labor strategy, and business objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**
_Industrial & Labor Relations_
· Lead and maintain constructive relationships with unions, works councils, and employee representatives.
· Manage collective bargaining and local labor agreements.
· Handle complex labor disputes, grievances, and disciplinary cases.
· Ensure compliance with labor laws, agreements, and company policies.
_HR & Business Partnership_
· Advise managers on HR matters and operational needs.
· Translate business priorities into workforce strategies.
· Support workforce planning, organizational changes, and change management initiatives.
_Talent & Workforce Management_
· Support succession planning, leadership pipelines, and talent alignment.
· Provide insights on critical roles and workforce decisions.
· Ensure consistent HR policies and procedures across the site.
Change Management
· Lead labor relations aspects of restructurings, shift models, and efficiency initiatives.
· Engage employee representatives in transformation initiatives.
· Partner with Legal on high-risk or complex cases.
_Leadership & Collaboration_
· Collaborate with HR, Legal, EHS, and Operations to deliver integrated HR solutions.
· Develop HR capability in industrial and employee relations.
· Act as a role model for company values and high-performance culture.
Requirements & Qualifications
**Education & Professional Experience**
· University degree in HR, Law, Industrial Relations, or related fields.
· Extensive industrial and employee relations experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
· Proven track record managing unionized workplaces and complex negotiations.
· Experience with large workforce populations in operationally intensive settings.
**Skills**
· Knowledge of labor law and industrial relations practices.
· Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
· High business acumen and effective communication skills.
· Project and change management capabilities.
**Languages**
· Italian: native or fluent
· English: fluent
