Senior Manager, Global Business Planning Office (Global Security)

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Global Security Team focuses on driving greater business resilience from complex cyber attacks and physical threats, while enabling best-in-class identification and management of risk.  Our team is integral to protecting RBC’s digital assets and brand, its employees, and clients’ trust, globally.  The successful candidate will be accountable for providing business and planning services, strategic advice and analysis to the Senior Leadership Team to improve resource planning, financial performance, drive cost savings and the quality of business decisions for spend managed by Global Security.

What will you do?

Primary contact for assigned Global Security Pillars providing central leadership, expertise and support of the monthly business review process with Global Security Executives and delegates related to financial planning and management

Drive annual prioritization to ensure financial budgets, headcount and business outcomes are in alignment with Global Security strategy and targets set out by Global Security Leadership in partnership with Finance and budget owners

Streamline and improve the effectiveness of the planning/budgeting process

Provide financial oversight of projects/programs/subsidiaries to ensure funding and approval are in place

Lead monthly business review process with Global Security executives and delegates

Identify cost saving opportunities and optimization initiatives

Assist in PAR and business cases, review of financial options and offer analysis. Ensure that the business cases and PARs are in adherence with PAR requirements

Responsible for consolidation, management and validation of cost savings initiatives

Support Finance and the Business in necessary reporting to complete management requirements

Prioritize deliverables to support business and technology partners’ requirements

What do you need to succeed?
 

Must have:

Degree in Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce, Finance, or related field

5+ years of professional experience in a role directly related to Financial Management such as: Portfolio Management, Planning Management, Vendor Management or a comparable strategic/operational leadership position

5+ years experience in analyzing spend vs. budget variances, tracking progress against financial targets, and providing actionable insights to drive performance

Strong ability to lead financial analysis for business leaders – making complex financial topics relevant to technology needs

Highly skilled at preparing and delivering high impact presentations tailored to senior leadership (senior management, executive members)

Demonstrated experience ensuring compliance with PAR (Prioritization Approval Request) requirements and guidelines for business cases and related submissions, including validation of completeness and accuracy

Ability to proactively identify and develop cost-saving opportunities and optimization initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and financial performance.

Proficient in Excel (preferably in macros), PowerPoint, BI tools

Nice to have:

Project Management experience

Previous banking experience

Experience with AI tools and data analytics techniques to drive insights and process improvements
