The Customs and Foreign Trade Tax Senior Manager (“Senior Manager”) leads a team of Consultants to identify import duty and tax savings opportunities for clients. The Senior Manager maintains existing client relationships and focuses on customs duty and tax as well as federal excise tax recovery. This includes researching custom classification and valuation, FTZ and duty drawback program issues, reconciling databases, and completing detailed calculations.Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results
People:
Client:
Develops client workplans and schedules associated project deliverables.Reviews and reconciles client data downloads and identifies duty and tax issues to research.Assists with client billing and financial forecasting.Travels to client locations to gather and copy import entries, export documentation and excise tax returns, invoices, purchase orders, and other documentation to use in the audit refund process.Responds to client inquiries and requests from federal and state and local agencies.Demonstrates exemplary verbal and written communication skills in order to ensure professional, effective, and courteous client interface.Prepares and conducts client presentations.Value:
Manages complex federal customs and excise tax projects, including audit defense, managed audits, managed compliance, reverse audits, and tax recovery.Negotiates tax resolutions with federal agencies.Performs other duties as assigned.Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree or equivalent in Accounting and/or Finance and a minimum of seven years audit or tax related experience.
