The successful candidate for this role will be based in RBC’s Caribbean Banking footprint or in Toronto, Canada.
What is the opportunity?
The Senior Manager, Communications, Caribbean Banking will develop and execute internal and external communications strategies that support the business objectives of RBC’s 10 Caribbean markets. The successful candidate for this role will work closely with leaders across the Caribbean Banking team to deliver innovative communications strategies that enhance RBC’s brand presence and employee experience.
What will you do?
Provide strategic communications counsel, proactive support, advice, and coaching to implement strategies and initiatives across Caribbean Banking.Coach, mentor, and impact & influence key partners to optimize communication planning, practices, and tactics.Provide day-to-day support in the development and execution of communications material including intranet articles, executive messages, social media posts and speeches, presentations, blogs, videos and printed materials ensuring information is timely, relevant and accurate.Identify proactive external opportunities to build profile of RBC’s Caribbean Banking business via earned media, social media, and owned channels.Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders and other communicators across Personal Banking & Commercial Banking to share best practices, learnings and successes.Anticipate and manage issues and reputational risk events.Champion communication excellence and benchmark best practices.What do you need to succeed?
Undergraduate degree/post-graduate certificate or equivalent in communications, public relations, journalism, English or related field.7+ years of communications experience, with a focus on proactive media relations and leadership profile building.Experience managing communications for a global workforce.Experience building media relations plans and executing PR activities.Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse and dynamic stakeholder base, focusing on trust, collaboration and strategic influence.Extensive experience providing strategic communications advice and developing content for senior executives.Ability to meet consistently high standards of quality while handling a variety of projects and deadlines simultaneously.Nice to have
Experience in the financial or related industry.Change communications knowledge or experience.Social and digital media savvy, and a keen interest in emerging technologies and how they are impacting the communications landscape.What’s in it for you?
