Senior Manager, Commercial Credit Adjudication - Agriculture

Job Description

What’s the opportunity?

You will contribute to the strategic business priorities of Commercial Banking Operations by leading and supporting a team of Commercial Credit Advisors (CCA) in the credit renewal process and adjudication of credit origination. Specializing in the Agriculture segment, your team will effectively partner and support Commercial Relationship Managers and be accountable for credit renewals, increases at renewal, reviewing and establishing the customer’s Borrower Risk Rating (BRR) and ensuring credit structures adequately mitigate the respective credit risks.  Through effective coaching, leadership, and talent management you will drive team productivity and efficiency.  

What will you do?

Lead and coach a team of CCA’s on credit analysis and structuring to enhance credit quality and client experienceSupport Commercial Relationship Managers (RM) in the credit processFocus on sound risk management, process efficiency, and process alignment specifically for credit renewals and adjudication for direct reportsAccountable for credit renewals, including increases at renewal, reviewing and establishing the client’s risk rating (BRR), and ensuring appropriate credit structuresAdjudicate transaction requests within Delegated Lending Authorities using sound judgment and employing a balanced approach to growth and portfolio qualityFollow established coaching routines to drive high performance, enhance client experience and ensure work volumes meet established service level agreementsPartner effectively to resolve escalations, balancing credit risk mitigation and client experience

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

3+ years experience in Commercial lending/credit and a deep expertise in Commercial lending guidelines and policiesSolid knowledge of commercial credit analysis and adjudication Specific knowledge of lending within the Agriculture industryStrong leadership capabilitiesProfessional oral and written communication and presentation skillsAbility to collaborate and effectively partner with appropriate stakeholders

Nice-to-have

People management experiencePrior experience as a Small Business/Commercial Relationship Manager, Commercial Financing Specialist, and/or Commercial Credit AdvisorExperience using SYNERGY, NEWTON, and MS Office (Excel, Power Point, etc)Bilingual in French and English
