What is the opportunity?
Avion Rewards is RBC’s award-winning loyalty platform, empowering millions of Canadians to earn and redeem points across a vast ecosystem of 200+ merchant partners. As we redefine engagement in Canada’s competitive rewards landscape, we’re seeking a strategic analytics leader to unlock data-driven growth.
In this role, you will lead the analytics strategy for Everyday Rewards, shaping how we leverage data to maximize value for clients, partners, and the Avion program. You’ll pioneer innovative solutions in segmentation, testing, and client journey optimization, directly influencing RBC’s loyalty ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of analytics, strategy, and stakeholder influence.
What will you do?
Champion Analytical Innovation: Design and implement advanced analytics frameworks (segmentation, A/B testing, predictive modeling) to optimize partner offers and client engagement.
Lead Partner Analytics: Act as analytics lead for grocery and strategic loyalty partners, translating data into actionable insights for joint value creation.
Drive Data-Centric Decisions: Use statistical rigor to test hypotheses, interpret results, and guide executives on program optimization and risk/reward trade-offs.
Lead through data and insights to enable Avion to optimize value for client segments optimized for members, the Avion program and our merchant partners.
Stakeholder engagement and management including understand needs, build credibility with senior executives and influence data-driven decision making.
Collaborate across functions to drive desired outcomes within a complex matrix organization.
Manage delivery/development of any dashboards needed to support business needs.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
8+ years of experience in analytics & insights
Excellent problem-solving skills
Solid knowledge of advanced analytics and the application to solve business needs
A background in execution of statistically driven business programs
Ability to work with business partners on needs and oversee the development and application of advanced analytics techniques, such as client journey mapping, segmentation/optimization and testing (A/B, multivariate etc..) to drive business insights and recommendations.
High proficiency with statistical and data mining tools such as Python and SQL, to mine and analyze large amounts of data.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills to interact across multiple levels of stakeholders (including senior leaders) both internally and externally
Nice to have:
One or more of loyalty, agency or consulting background.
Experience with Cloud Data Platforms such as: Snowflake, Data Bricks, AWS.
Experience or strong knowledge of data science methodologies and practices.
