The role will drive superior results in Commercial Banking by providing data-driven insights and recommendations for strategy, key initiatives, and business performance routines. RBC Commercial Banking is a high-growth, rapidly evolving platform which requires the incumbent to be able to think fast, strategize in-depth, and proactively drive initiatives to conclusion with business partners.
What will you do:
Support strategy and other initiatives in Commercial Banking (e.g., industry/sector, segment strategies) through powerful storytelling and compelling insights & analyticsDesign, develop, and monitor OKRs and KPIs for Commercial Banking that are aligned to CB strategic objectives, including for new and existing major initiativesNavigate large and complex, yet often ambiguous and incomplete data, and synthesize diverse sources (across large internal client data, external research, competitor & market share data, etc.) to tell a cohesive story and produce actionable strategic insightsAdvance the depth and coverage of Business Performance in CB with new methodologies and business analytical tools to address complex and evolving business questions, needsEvaluate emerging opportunities and build robust business cases to prioritize initiatives and help shape Commercial Banking’s strategic directionWhen needed, support other initiatives on by the BPAI team such as the rollout of various AI-based productivity tools in CBBuild and manage effective relationships with key stakeholders, including other data & analytics teams, and collaborate with these partners on ad-hoc as well as routine engagements to deepen our understanding of CB business performanceBe a thought leader within the BPAI COE by applying a strategic lens to our Business Performance program, championing continuous improvement, and ensuring the program evolves in tandem with business needs in Commercial Banking.What do you need to succeed?
Must-haves:
3-5 years of direct experience in analytics or quantitative strategy supporting areas such as credit strategy, client acquisitions, deposits, or treasuryEffective storytelling skills, written and verbal, with demonstrated ability to synthesize complex analytical exercises into simple, clear, and powerful insights & recommendationsAbility to translate ambiguity into structured frameworks and ability to deconstruct complex and intricate problems into manageable piecesStrong problem-solving skills and ability to conceptualize strategyDemonstrated ability to work well collaboratively in a cross-function environment as well as independently, taking initiative and ownershipOne RBC mentality, and willingness to take on whatever is required to elevate the businessNice to have:
Knowledge of Commercial Banking products, lines of business, priority sectorsMBA, CPA, CFA, and/or other professional designationsExperience building financial models and business casesKnowledge of RBC databases and RBC data warehouse environmentCuriosity for research & data analysisWhat’s in it for you?
