Senior Manager, Budapest COE, Controllership (Maternity Cover)Job Description Summary
This role is responsible for managing the EMEA Controllership team with approximately 20 FTE in the Budapest Controllership Center of Excellence (“COE”), partnering closely with approximately 8 FTE in the Manila COE Controllership team.The EMEA controllership support team was created to:
• Centralize statutory financial statement preparation audits and reporting for EMEA;
• Provide offshore accounting support to certain EMEA countries; and
• Provide regional EMEA external reporting support.
The Budapest and Manila COE colleagues are credentialed with accounting bachelor, double business degrees, and master degrees, ACCA certifications, and Big 4 or industry equivalent backgrounds. Aside from assigned responsibilities, they are looked upon to address accounting issues in EMEA as they arise. Their stakeholders include not only EMEA country controllers, EMEA FSC teams, corporate consolidations and reporting team, but also external auditors and other service providers.
This senior manager will need to develop strong relationships across the global stakeholder group.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and transition EMEA’s statutory financial statement (SFS) reporting into Budapest over the next three years. Activities include implementing the Workiva Global Statutory Reporting tool in each country, hiring and training the organization to support SFS audits and reporting, creating the governance and policies and processes to enable timely and quality filing SFS.Manage the seamless transition of responsibilities from the onshore country team or external providers to the Budapest EMEA team. Ensure clear, realistic, measurable expectations are negotiated, communicated, and documented.Manage the work that has been transitioned to the COE EMEA team, ensuring it is being performed timely and in a manner that meets and exceeds onshore country expectations. Ensure the processes and deliverables are concisely and clearly documented and retained.Create an environment that promotes strong processes, top performance, continuous improvement and efficient operations of the EMEA controllership teams.Look for opportunities to provide value added insight to EMEA controllership through the work that has been transitioned to the COE.Recruit, retain, and develop top talent. Provide specific and intentional opportunities for COE colleagues to grow in their careers.Facilitate strong partnerships and communications between stakeholders and COE team. Ensure alignment on promised deliverables and explore areas where COE assistance may be helpful or required. Transition additional responsibilities where and when appropriate.Partner with the Manila Controllership COE team, sharing best practices and resources as appropriate.REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Education and/or Experience):
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Accountancy8+ years of accounting, finance, or audit with a public accounting firm or publicly traded companyExperience working in a shared service or centers of excellence environmentExperience managing multiple teams in a complex, matrixed environmentUnderstanding of accounting and internal control concepts (GAAP), IT implementations, risks assessmentCPA or ACCA preferred6 Sigma training preferredABILITY TO:
