What is the opportunity

To establish, implement, and continuously enhance Artificial Intelligence (AI)  governance frameworks across RBC Global Asset Management (GAM), balancing innovation enablement with robust risk management and regulatory compliance.

What will you do?

Governance & LeadershipLead monthly AI Governance Committee meetings and bi-weekly AI Working Group sessionsPrepare quarterly reporting to GAM Leadership Committee on AI governance effectivenessActively maintain inventory of AI initiatives and identify high-risk activities requiring enhanced controlsBusiness EnablementSupport business sponsors through AI approval processes with clear, actionable guidanceFacilitate knowledge transfer and best practice sharing across RBCIdentify high-value AI opportunities while ensuring proper governance implementationEstablish and maintain strong relationships across first and second line functions to accelerate adoptionRisk & Compliance ManagementEnsure RBC and GAM mandated governance and controls are implementedManage escalations and incident reviews involving AI componentsTranslate evolving regulatory requirements into practical operational guidanceMonitor emerging AI trends and assess applicability to GAM operationsCoordination & CollaborationCoordinate with Enterprise AI Working Forum (AIWF) for complex governance casesWork cross-functionally to balance gatekeeping with supportive enablement

      

What do you need to succeed?

Strategic Thinking – Ability to balance innovation acceleration with risk management and develop forward-looking governance strategiesStakeholder Management – Proven skill in influencing and collaborating across business units, risk functions, and executive leadershipRegulatory & Compliance Knowledge – Deep understanding of financial services regulations and ability to translate requirements into practical operational guidanceAI/ML Fundamentals – Practical understanding of AI/ML technologies, use cases, and associated risks to inform governance decisionsCommunication & Simplification – Exceptional ability to distill complex governance frameworks and technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for diverse audiences

Nice to Have:

Prior experience establishing governance frameworks in fast-growing technology or innovation teamsExposure to RegTech or AI governance solutions in financial institutions  or in technology sector
