Job Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER

Lead the overall team and ensure knowledge and capabilities are effectively managed to support medium to longer term business needsLead the communication, interpretation, application, and implementation of results for actuarial analysisDirect, plan and oversee resources within allocated actuarial function(s) to fulfil departmental responsibilitiesProvide leadership and professional development to Actuarial staff to ensure a knowledgeable and highly motivated teamCommunicate complex actuarial concepts in clear, easy to understand terminology to promote impacts / ramifications to senior leadership and risk managementDetermine and decide policy and/or action based on internal and external industry developments for Compliance ProgramsContribute to the development and implementation of Compliance programs related to model compliance risk managementWork with executive team, senior business unit management / partners to develop proactive strategies, tactics, policies and programs to effectively manage regulatory compliance requirementsEnsure team collaboration with partners on business problems/issues and provide fact-based analytical advice that aligns to strategy and addresses business regulatory requirements and issuesEngage with business partners and business leaders to determine and implement Compliance strategies and directs the compliance cultureProvide insight, guidance, and recommendation on Compliance subject matter, regulatory and industry issues and acts as a specialized resource to other departments based on subject matter expertiseProvide explanation and/or resolution for business/Compliance management-based findingsManage high risk initiatives and escalations; lead initiatives/guidance as appropriateManage day to day operations of the department and participate in enterprise wide projectsAdvise on day-to-day Compliance matters affecting the business including, but not limited to, customer identification and due diligence, enhanced due diligence, training and compliance testingDeliver relevant subject matter expertise and Compliance advice to business management

SHAREHOLDER

Work closely with key business leaders to develop business plan, ensuring the optimal use of resources and leverage TD’s operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scaleChallenge business appropriately ensuring best interest of the organization is consideredActively assist in developing and overseeing implementation of business line policies and Compliance procedures, policies, and standardsWork closely with leaders to develop and operationalize the business plan and deliver on Compliance programs across the enterprisePlan and execute on strategic activities, review and communicate results, and adjust priorities accordinglyProactively identify key business opportunities, research and recommend enhancements / modifications, develop strategies to achieve recommendations and work closely with team to execute and implementUnderstand TDBG issues / parameters and guide others to protect the reputation and interest of TD by adhering to operating standards and processes related to ComplianceCoordinate and support team and business Compliance related activities as necessaryPartner with the governance & assurance function to develop various training and awareness programsProvide oversight on enterprise wide annual risk assessment process as requiredProtect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessaryKeep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impactsMaintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetiteOversee that employees are building and enhancing their knowledge and expertise; and employees assume responsibility in minimizing operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank policy and Code of Conduct

Oversee and lead a highly complex and diverse reporting function for an area of significant risk, complexity or scope while growing talent, developing skills and capabilities to achieve career goals, support project / initiative success and achieve business resultsProvides coaching, mentorship and guidance to the team within domain area of expertiseManages and oversees the overall discipline and strategy for the respective areas while aligning to the enterprise best practicesStrategic partner to leadership team on the management of the portfolio and financials, with deep industry, external / internal, enterprise knowledge, recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and; identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities with other business management / enterprise areasFocus on longer-range planning for functional areaGenerally reports to executive management

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

FCAS and/or FCIA required10+ years of related experience, including 3 to 5 years people management experience.
