Senior Mainframe Application Developer (Medicaid / MMIS)
CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Mainframe Application Developer (Medicaid / MMIS) position for our client. Location: Remote Duration: 7 months Duties: Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications and mainframe application designs. Design, develop, enhance, and maintain CA-MMIS Medicaid mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM. Provide development and production support for Medicaid AR (Accounts Receivable) and cash control processing systems. Implement and support z/OS Connect APIs to enable integration between mainframe systems and AWS Cloud–based applications. Implement and support DVM (Data Virtualization Manager) APIs to expose legacy mainframe data to modern interfacing systems. Perform unit, integration, system, and regression testing to ensure application quality and compliance. Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure successful delivery and ongoing system stability. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in development, test, and production environments. Skills: Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM in an enterprise mainframe environment. In-depth knowledge of Medicaid MMIS systems, with emphasis on AR and cash control processing. Experience with z/OS Connect APIs and mainframe-to-cloud integrations, preferably with AWS. Experience implementing and supporting DVM (Data Virtualization Manager) APIs. Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies and mainframe testing practices. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Experience: 5+ years of experience in mainframe application development. Prior experience with healthcare claims processing systems; Medicaid/MMIS experience is strongly preferred. Proven experience translating business requirements into technical solutions in a regulated environment. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
