Legal Counsel Manager II
The successful candidate will play a key role in the identification and management of legal risk issues across the Group. The role will involve acting as an internal consultant and as such, will involve extensive dealings directly with the business. The successful candidate will report to the General Counsel.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Identifying, managing and mitigating of legal risk issues Ensuring that the Group complies with legislation and regulation Providing preventative legal guidance and risk training to the business Making recommendations/drafting formal legal responses to issues Providing legal support in relation to the entering into of contracts with the Group’s clients and vendors, including reviewing and negotiating contracts Assisting with the development of legal and risk strategy, as appropriate Works closely with the Group’s various customers, business units, administrative units, sales & marketing and finance to draft and negotiate appropriate contract arrangements, including but not limited to purchasing, facilities, sales and purchase agreements, leases, non-disclosure agreements, licenses of the Group’s technology and products and licenses to the Group of third party technology and products. May include interaction with outside counsel on areas of special expertise such as litigation, environmental, taxation, mergers and acquisitions, etc. May be involved in litigation tasks as required including investigations and discovery support.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications (Eligibility Criteria)
Licensed to practice law.
Graduate with excellent academic credentials is required.
Minimum 7-10 years’ experience practicing law.
Experience in intellectual property laws, employment laws, international business transactions and general litigation preferred.
Ability to write and converse in Mandarin preferred.
