Senior Lead Statutory Accounting

In this role, you will take ownership of the full statutory reporting lifecycle — from preparation to audit closure — ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellence across multiple complex entities. You will drive continuous improvement, process optimization, and digital transformation within Kyndryl’s statutory environment. This is a pivotal, high-impact role where you will help shape best practices, mentor less experienced team members, and represent Kyndryl in interactions with external auditors, corporate finance, and local CFO organizations across EMEA. **Who You Are** **Key Responsibilities** + Lead the **end-to-end statutory reporting** and audit process for high-complexity entities across multiple EMEA jurisdictions. + Serve as a **technical authority** on accounting and disclosure requirements under local GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP bridges. + Partner closely with **external auditors** , tax, and legal teams to ensure audit readiness, risk mitigation, and full compliance. + Provide **expert review and quality assurance** on financial statements prepared by other team members. + Drive **standardization, automation, and process improvements** across the statutory reporting framework. + Support implementation of **new accounting standards** , global policies, and system initiatives impacting statutory deliverables. + Act as a **key escalation point** for complex audit and accounting topics; provide coaching and guidance to junior and senior preparers. + Collaborate with regional and global controllership teams to ensure consistent treatment of significant transactions and events. + Maintain a strong control environment and ensure **audit documentation and evidence** meet internal and external expectations. + Contribute thought leadership to statutory process transformation and digital initiatives (e.g., workflow optimization, automation, analytics). **Who You Are** **Required Qualifications** + University degree in **Accounting, Finance, or related field** ; advanced professional qualification ( **ACCA, CPA, or equivalent** ) required. + Minimum **8–10 years** of experience in **statutory accounting, external audit, or controllership** in large multinational organizations. + Deep technical expertise in **local GAAPs, IFRS, and US GAAP bridging** . + Proven record of managing **complex, multi-country statutory audits** and coordinating with Big 4 audit firms. + Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities; able to interpret and resolve intricate accounting issues. + Highly proficient in **SAP** (or equivalent ERP) and advanced **Excel / data analysis tools** . + Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior finance and audit partners. + Fluent in **English** ; additional European languages (German, French, Spanish, or others) are a strong plus. **Preferred Qualifications** + Prior leadership in **process transformation, system migration, or automation projects** . + Experience mentoring or training finance professionals across multiple geographies. + Exposure to **shared service or center-of-excellence environments** supporting multiple entities. + Passion for continuous improvement, simplification, and innovation within statutory accounting. **Being You** Diversity is a whole lot more than what we look like or where we come from, it’s how we think and who we are.
