Job responsibilities

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsCreates design recommendations and plans to modernize an existing applicationCoaching junior team members on good design practices and testingPartnering with Architecture to review design plans and adjust based on feedbackDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersBuild Microservices that will run on the bank’s internal cloud and the public cloud platform​Write test cases, leverage unit and integration testing, develop functionality and automation​Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecturePresent and document technical designs, process flows, and proceduresWork closely with product teams, users, agile leads, and other development teams across the firm to support and deliver highly integrated technologyIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityHands-on practical experience designing large-scale modern applicationsAdvanced experience with Java/J2EE and Spring FrameworkHands-on SQL optimization knowledge Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
